A frosty 11 degrees here this morning. I am off to check the greenhouses shortly. Curious to see how everything survives and what the temps are in there. Soil temp has been sitting at 70 during the day and holding moisture well. Thermal mass in the raised beds should be good making a decent heat sink. A fair amount of over wintered Sorrel, chard, and spinach. A bit of kale also. It seems to have survived well with a remay blanket under snow. Should be ready to harvest around mid-april. Early March heat has caused a lot of early bolting in over wintered japanese brassicas. New peeps are fully feathered out and looking good at 2 months. Time to finish the chicken coop and get the big girls out on pasture for the summer. I want to seed the area with clover first though.
