Aqua culture in Vermont.....

Good Morning,
Rain continues to come down and the fields are unworkable. The purchase of another large greenhouse is confirmed by the weather we are having this spring. The two I have are the only things producing right now. Light sandy soils and lots of rain mean plenty of nutrient leaching and yellow spinach. Peas started to come up and are now just kind of rotting in the soil. We did manage to put in some field tomatoes yesterday and cover them with some "walls o water". We will see how that goes. Small greenhouse is planted with cherry tomatoes and all the other starts are in the ground so far.  Having to do a lot of transplanting this year so far instead of direct seeding. Painful on the labor end of things and the time it takes. Ah well at least we are not flooding out up here like some of my less fortunate peers. New seedling greenhouse is coming along. We have started to tie it in to the garage and get it sealed up. If you have signed up for the Food Hub CSA please head over to our blog for it and try and follow it as we get going. I will be posting recipes, news, and updates over there. Thanks Joe
